Thabiti Boone- After attending the 2017 Up Rising Stars 6th annual scholarship and awards gala, I'm still reflecting on the exciting time I had with everyone celebrating the vision and leadership of Danielle Worth, her Mother and sister, honoring High School scholars and outstanding community leaders.
I've been to many gala's over the years, but there are few that I've attended that matched the spirit, love and humanity that Danielle and her family pours into their program. Their hard work providing scholarships to support students higher education moving them further towards their goals and dreams is priceless.
Ms. Worth was an awesome host making sure everyone enjoyed themselves. From the red carpet, vendors, food, powerful panel, wonderful soloist, comedian Talent, who kept everybody laughing, to the honorees, it was an incredible time.
I will continue to support uprising stars worthy cause and efforts. Danielle and her family are truly Stars for making a difference.

Selena Hill- I had a wonderful time at the 2017 Up Rising Stars gala and was honored to receive the "Communicator of the Year" award! Each honoree delivered a moving acceptance speech and The Worth family did a great job in putting the entire event together. They have a true passion for giving back and helping college-bound students in need.
Robyn Greene Arrington- Being the keynote speaker at this year's Up Rising Stars gala was not only an honor but enriching. Life is definitely about reciprocity.The panel was enlightening. The award recipients were inspiriing. The scholarship winners impressive. And the man and impetus for the organization both amazing.I left with a full mind, body and soul experience. God blessings on Up Rising Stars Inc. continued impact and overall purpose.
Robin Kurain- This is my fourth year hosting the red carpet for the Uprising Stars Scholarship awards gala and each year I get inspired more and more! This annual gala is such a positive event to attend. As an entertainment host, being there always encourages me to keep pursuing my career goals. Hearing everyone from the recipients to the panelists really encourages me to strive for success! You will leave believing in your dreams again!!!

Ania Cotton (August 31, 2016) Up Rising Stars Inc. is such a wonderful organization to work for! They're so family oriented and they allowed me to be very hands-on this year to help plan for their gala. I truly enjoyed my time there because I got the chance to work on some great media skills that will help me in college as well as in my career. I was even offered an externship position at the end of the summer, and I now have the opportunity to continue working with the organization while at school. Up Rising Stars Inc. is truly a great organization to volunteer for, I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get involved!

Emma Sherry (August 15, 2016) I really enjoyed my time as an intern with Up Rising Stars! I had the opportunity to work closely with the founder and to have a hands-on experience in the daily working's of a small non-profit organization. Preparing for the gala was a fulfilling and exciting process - it was especially gratifying to attend the event and to see our work pay off! Overall, I left feeling like a stakeholder in the mission of the organization and that I had a wonderful summer internship experience. Thank you so much to Danielle and the Up Rising Stars board for welcoming me and empowering me to help the organization to help others!

I absolutely love Howard University. I am so happy with my decision to attend here. Thank you again for the Up Rising Stars Inc. scholarship, without it this would not be possible. I have learned so much about myself and where I come from. It is so amazing to be surrounded by so many people with the same goal who look like me. I feel so empowered to be an African American woman and I have gained more passion about my culture. I received a 3.56 last semester, so I am very excited about this semester. Hoping for good things! Cheryl C. (September 12, 2015) Volunteering with Up Rising Stars Inc. provided me with an excellent opportunity to be helpful and to meet new people. This family-run organization gave me that and more. I’ve met some wonderful people and also work with some positive young people. The real work that allows Up Rising Stars Inc. to provide and -with style- present scholarships to high school students going to college was an exciting experience. It is rewarding to realize the results of your effort pay off when you get to see the faces of the scholarship recipients. After completing a year of volunteer service, I depart feeling like I left behind a good friend. Nevertheless, you will learn and find value in the work you do while volunteering with Up Rising Stars Inc.

The women that I met at our table were fantastic as well.
